La Chureya Estate Wedding // KQ + Logan
I think I might explode from all the good things I have to/need to/am dying to share about this wedding. However, KQ (the gorgeous bride) took the time to share all the details about her and Logan’s wedding as well as the meaning behind them. How did she do it? SHE REPURPOSED HER WEDDING WEBSITE. I’m in awe. Read all about it + their relationship and honeymoon here. This is hands down one of the best ways to share highlights of your wedding with your family and friends I have ever seen. Errbody, take note, because I sure am. Here are some of the details summarized by me, to see them in KQ’s own words check out this perfect lil website.
ABOUT THE WEDDING
It’s not uncommon for people to ask a couple planning their wedding- “hey, what’s your theme?!”. Take it from KQ herself, if you want to stress a sista out, keep asking this question. However, KQ knew from the beginning that she always wanted to keep it cool and laid back. It was important to KQ + Logan to focus on the good stuff; delicious traditional Filipino food and a fancy picnic by the pool.
FLORALS
Before KQ was a barre3 queen, she worked in the floral industry. Needless to say she was dying to see something that hadn’t been done before. Gardening is a bigggg deal to the women in her family so these florals had to be next level. When visiting the property, she saw the bougainvillea and was sold. Thanks to her ridiculously talented florist Elise from Woven Florals her bougainvillea (say it 3 times fast) dream came to life. Word on the street is Elise went from property to property trimming bougainvillea for the arch and two bouquets.
THAT RING DOH
The GORGEOUS pear-shaped stone in KQ’s ring previously belonged to her mother-in-law and was acquired by her fiancee’s grandfather. The setting was made by Heidi Gibson, whose designs KQ had been admiring for years.
DRESS
KQ’s dress was custom-made in the Philippines, and was an ode to her little sister-cousin, Jaqueline, who passed away last year. Jaqueline was a young and incredibly talented fashion designer who had promised KQ that she would make her wedding dress someday. This promise was kept by her mother and father who had the dress contracted as a special project from Jaqueline’s former colleague.
CEREMONY
THIS CEREMONY. Let’s start with the live music played by KQ’s cousin John; who rocked “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele as the processional, and “Cold Water” by Major Lazer + Justin Bieber for the ring blessing ceremony. During the ceremony, KQ + Logan chose to read their own vows. It’s something KQ shared that she had wanted to do her whole life… until she had to write them. All in all, they were so happy to share their own words but also understood why people sometimes want to opt out of it. They walked out to Betty Who’s “I Love You Always Forever” like rockstars, and the rest is history.
To all the couples planning their wedding: this is YOUR day. Have a 3 day party, or a 10 minute ceremony. Have breakfast for dinner, or a five course meal. Take a page out of KQ + Logan’s book and make this day your own. You’ll be happy you did, and I’ll be thrilled to capture it.
