What happens when an equestrian and aerospace engineer get married? A Galactic Americana wedding for the ages. as soon as i met maia and dylan, i was immediately taken with their kind souls and love of all things quirk. i knew after their rustic engagement session in a cabin in julian, that their wedding celebration in the desert was going to be iconic.

the ace in palm springs is always a vibe. it’s one of my favorite places to work for obvious reasons. so when i walked in and saw the way it had been transformed into an americana dreamscape, my jaw dropped. it is so important to me that the couples i work with feel like their wedding is a reflection of their one of a kind selves. this wedding felt so uniquely maia and dylan, and was such a blast to photograph.

one of the many memorable moments from the day was when an unexpected wind storm knocked down the ceremony backdrop. it was as if the heavens themselves were giving these two a thundering applause. it gave these two a story they will pass along within their family, and it gave a little extra flavor to the photographic story telling throughout the day.

from maia’s blue fringe horseshoe veil, to the tassle lanterns hanging from the ceiling, to the ufo and cowboys on their dinner menus; each and every details was intentional and iconic. i can say this is the first space cowboy themed wedding i have photographed in my career and man, I really hope it’s not the last.
